Chocolate Gingerbread Brownies

These fudgy chocolate gingerbread brownies are so delicious! The combination of dark chocolate with a hint of spice makes these brownies unforgettable!


Chocolate Gingerbread Brownies
  • 12 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup cake flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)


Preheat the oven to 325. Line an 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 square pan with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together the butter, sugar, and molasses. Add the eggs and vanilla, and mix until smooth. Add the cake flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves, and mix until just combined. Spread the batter in the prepared pan. Bake 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 1 1/2 inches from the side of the pan comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. Let cool 20-30 minutes before slicing. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
